GVF MENASAT Summit @ Satellite MENA 2010
3rd March 2010
The MENA Communications ‘Knowledge Exchange’:
Development Dynamics in the Broadband Satellite & Hybrid Wireless Applications Market
Summit Outline
The Satellite MENA 2010 exhibition will incorporate the Free-to-Attend GVF MENASAT Summit 2010 entitled ‘The MENA Communications Knowledge Exchange: Development Dynamics in the Broadband Satellite & Hybrid Wireless Applications Market’. The GVF MENASAT Summit is sponsored by Hughes, Thuraya and iDirect, and will bring together leading companies to identify and discuss the development of new opportunities in satellite and satellite-hybrid services and technologies.
In recognition of the ever increasing importance of the Satellite MENA exhibition for the satellite communications industry, GVF has agreed to continue its collaboration with DWTC and once again to embed its MENASAT Summit within the Satellite MENA exhibition.
Organised by GVF, in partnership with Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC), the GVF Summit is part of the Satellite MENA KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE and will provide Satellite MENA attendees with a value-added discussion forum within which key points on the Middle Eastern and North African satellite and broader telecommunications agenda will be investigated in depth.
The GVF MENASAT Summit @ Satellite MENA 2010 will feature a programme of content to provide GVF Members (and non-Members) with opportunities to both participate in a high-level conference-style dialogue, and to elevate their profile across the Satellite MENA environment.
The themes of the Summit programme – which are listed below – will include examination of the unprecedented levels of demand for IP-based services that is driving millions of potential end-users across the MENA region towards broadband communications solutions, both pure-play satellite and satellite-wireless hybrids.
Large-enterprise, SME, SOHO, government and residential users alike, continue to clamour for cost-effective access to reliable communications solutions which accelerate the accessibility of bandwidth-hungry interactive applications, and to meet this demand multiple delivery platforms and technologies are rapidly being deployed around the Middle East & North Africa regions.
A combination of pent-up demand for broadband access solutions, progressive satellite liberalisation, and new satellites at Ku- and Ka-band is driving business opportunity across the MENA region. From government networks to financial services, from oil & gas to the marine transportation environment, and from education to the health sector to, the international satellite communications industry is moving rapidly to address fixed satellite service (FSS) and mobile satellite service (MSS) requirements for bandwidth, hardware, and value-added services.
The Summit will address the very latest developments in the MENA satellite market, including how the region's satellite operators are planning to transition existing FSS transponder capacity to BSS, simply because of increasing demand for expanding broadcast services throughout the region.
As well as through this website, GVF members will be able to keep fully up-to-date with the latest news developments in the build-up to GVF MENASAT @ Satellite MENA 2009 through the GVF eBulletin, distributed regularly to the GVF membership.
